If you are looking for an anti aging treatment that is lighter on the pocket and gives very quick results then one of your best option is including microdermabrasion facials in your skin care regimen.
Microdermabrasion is a simple, non-invasive and gentle process aimed at removing the dead skin cells from the topmost layer of your skin. This procedure is widely accepted to be good treatment for fine lines and wrinkles, age or discolored skin spots, skin acne, acne scars, large pores, rough and thick skin, etc. Besides removing dead skin cells, some say that it also stimulates the skin to create fresh cells as well as new collagen but this may be debatable. One thing is for sure though, after undergoing this procedure, immediate results will show improvement in the color and glow of your skin.

The process begins with the cleansing of the facial area first and then applying the necessary preparatory treatment which may be chemical-based. After that, the professional aesthetician, dermatologist or plastic surgeon will start the microdermabrasion process by lightly abrading the skin using a wand built with very fine crystals at the tip which is used to “sand” the skin, thereby removing dead skin cells to reveal the fresh skin beneath. Some equipment has built-in suctions with the wands so the shed skin cells are quickly and properly removed as the wand sands them away from any area of the face.
Some salons or clinics also offer chemical peeling as part of the microdermabrasion facial service. This involves the application of chemical-based exfoliating products that stimulates the skin cells to renew and remove toxins that are trapped within the deeper layers of the skin. The effects of chemical peeling comes a few days after the application of the chemicals and will be characterized by skin peeling, raw and red skin which may cause some discomfort. Chemical peels are best administered by professionals so be sure to be safe and consult one if you are interested in this anti aging treatment.
If you are wondering if you can do facial microdermabrasion without going to the salon or skin clinics, then you will be delighted to know that yes, there is a way. Dermanew is a company that specializes in microdermabrasion home kits. These kits contain a set of tools, usually a wand or “sander” along with creams that may contain the exfoliants (usually crystals) used in the abrasion process. For more information about these kits, please read my Dermanew Creme review.

Hyaluronan or hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally present in the human body and plays a vital role in lubricating joints and in the proper functioning of connective tissues found in areas such as the heart valves, and the eyes.
It is also thought to be an anti aging substance and has been featured a lot in the media and scientific circles due to its potential role in the longevity of the residents of a village somewhere in Japan where the natural diet are known to stimulate the body to naturally produce adequate amounts of HA which sorts of counteract the decline in the body’s production as aging advances.
This substance, as a result, is now being used in anti aging products that claim to deal with a lot of aging issues, particularly skin aging issues, although there are valid concerns as to its efficacy when administered as a topical product (See related article about the Hyaluronic acid serum).
But what are the potential side effects of this substance?
HA is not a very well-studied substance right now but there are reports that indicate its potential side effects when administered via injection to treat joints with osteoarthritis.
While it is reported to be generally safe, it can sometimes cause irritation, redness and pain in the area where the substance is injected. When used in eye surgeries, it may cause increase in pressure inside the eyes. Allergic reaction is also considered a rare event. Injecting during pregnancy is also considered possibly safe. However, they do not allow use of HA if you plan on breastfeeding your baby.
Not much is known when administered as an oral supplement or as a topical application so it is best not to use any hyaluronic acid product during pregnancy.
To learn more, it is best to consult your doctor before using any anti aging product; most especially if you are pregnant or has other health issues.

When it comes to taking care of your skin, one of the best strategies that you can employ is to go natural. And one of the top proponents of this approach is a skin care company called Decleor and one of the product lines referred to as the Hydra Floral line is an entire line of products that makes use and rely on natural ingredients for their beneficial effects. In this article, I will discuss these products along with their benefits.
The Hydra Floral line is categorized as an Anti-Pollution treatment line and is composed of anti aging products that are gel or cream-based. Listed below is a list of the products in this line in no particular order:

- Flower Nectar Moisturizing Cream – this product was formulated using plant extracts like Aromatic Mint, Orange Blossom Waters, Codium and Wild Pansy extracts, micro proteins from Moringa Oleifera along with Neroli Essential Oil. These ingredients aim to relax and quench the moisture needs of the skin and protect it from external and environmental pollutants which will lead to an overall improvement in the softness, moisture content and health of the skin. This product uses what Decleor calls as the aquaporins technology (true cell irrigation channels).
- Fresh Flower Moisturizing Emulsion – this is an emulsion that also uses the aquaporins technology. It contains no harmful ingredients such as mineral oils and parabens. Like Moisturizing cream, it aims to moisturize and protect with its main protective ingredient being Moringa Oleifera extracts. This is best applied in the morning on cleansed face.
- Flower Petals Eye and Lip Moisturizing Mask – this formula is different from the first two as it is formulated for as a wrinkle eye cream to treat the sensitive skin areas around the eyes and lips. It also makes use of aquaporins and uses the same ingredients mostly. Its benefits include the reduction of dark circle appearance and puffiness around the eyes through the addition of Ivy and Cornflower extracts and Sweet Clover Floral Water.
- Flower Essence Moisturizing Mask – this product is much like the Moisturizing Cream and Emulsion but is intended to be applied as a facial mask for maximum benefits.
- Flower Dew Moisturizing Gel-Cream for Eyes – this is similar to the Flower Petals formula but with the addition of one more natural ingredient which Decleor just refers to as the “Plant Firming Ingredient”. It is fragrance-free, mineral oil free, alcohol free and is tested be safe on the eyes (in case you accidentally put cream in them).
